This article is about how education is important in every day life. My thought about is reading was that education will come to us if we let it. My first time reading the article I was confused about the whole thing but after the second time reading through I understood what was being said. An idea that confused me is that in the passage it said, “Education has two-fold function to perform in the life of man and in society: the one is utility and the other is culture.” I understand that utility means to be useful which means it is useful to have an education, but I do not know what culture has to do with it. An idea that excites me was when King said, ”Discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction.” That excited me because education helps us in the most simplest ways.

This article is relevant today because everyone still needs an education. King’s main argument for this reading is that not only is education good to pass a class, it helps us in social life too. After reading this, it made me realized that I am very grateful to be able to go to school and get an education. I am able to learn things to help me get good grade but I also get to learn how to live.
